HOW TO MAKE AND CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT
As of 28th March 2020, all online appointments have been suspended due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are sorry if this has caused any inconvenience to our online group of patients.
You will need to call our main surgery line 01524 511999, where you will be triaged then signposted by one of our trained Patient Advisor Team members.
Appointments
Always advise us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend for your appointment – this will allow us to use the time for someone else.
If you have received a text reminder on your mobile phone from Bay Medical Group, and youy cannot attend, just reply CANCEL to this text, you don`t have to ring the surgery.
Sorry , if you dont have a mobile phone and don`t receive text appointment reminders, you will need to call the surgery 01524 511999 and press the dedicated cancellation option number 6.
The appointment process

Many minor illness`s can be managed by over the counter remedies and are of short duration. Please can we ask that you have tried to self manange your illness before you try to book an appointment. Our phone line can be very busy, please could we politley ask that we prioritise our mornings for patients wanting to make appointments and other queries, like test results be saved for the afternoon when it is less busy.
You will be given 6 options when dialling our main number, they are
Option 1- Long Term Conditions Review
Option 2 - Covid -19 appointment booking team
Option 3 - Medicines Management team (8am - 12 noon only)
Option 4 - If you need an urgent on the day appointment
Option 5- All other routine appointments
OPtion 6 - To cancel your appointment
In order for our Patient Advisors to be able to direct you to the most appropriate clinicians, they need to ask you for details of your medical condition. All information given to our reception or clinical team is treated in confidence.
The different types of appointments we offer are:
Urgent on the day appointments
Our Urgent (Acute) Care Service runs alongside our routine GP service. This service is covered by our Advanced Practitioners Team. Unfortunately we are unable to deal with ongoing issues within the Urgent Care Service however we have the opportunity to deal quickly and effectively with patients with acute problems.
Routine GP appointments
Routine GP appointments are available up to 2 weeks in advance. At the moment where appropriate we are offering telephone, video consulations and face to face appointments.
Nurse appointments
Covid-19 appointments

Other Urgent Care Services - Urgent Treatment Centre (Minor Illness & Minor Injury Service)
Based within Morecambe Health Centre, the service is run by highly qualified Nurse Practitioners and a GP on a daily basis. Any minor injuries occuring in the last week, X-Rays facilities are here too. To book an appointment call 111.
Early Morning/Evening Routine/Weekend appointments
Ideally suited for those who work full time, we offer early morning (from 7.30am) and evening (up to 7.20pm) routine GP appointments 4 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) as well as early morning appointments on a Friday. We also have some availability with our nursing team during these times. Weekend surgeries are available.
