Video Consultations

Bay Medical Group are now offering Video Consultations, we hope you find this a useful and efficient way of speaking to your clinician.

On the day of your appointment, you should receive an SMS text message from the sender “BayMedical” when the clincian is ready to start the consultation. The will message contain a link which you should tap/click as soon as you recieve the text.

When you tap the link you will be asked to test your microphone, the test shouldn’t take more than a few seconds. You may then be asked if you wish to allow access to your microphone and camera – please allow this access

If you have not received the SMS text message from your surgery at least 1 hour after the time of your appointment, please contact the surgery on 01524 511999

Please be aware the appointment times are an approximation and you should be available to take the call half hour either side of your given time.

Push Doctor Consultations

Available from January 2022

For the next 6 months we will be working with an organisation called Push Doctor. They offer Video consultations with A GP either 'on the day' or planned ahead. This means there will be more availability to access NHS GPs via video appointment at a time and place that suits you. The practice remains open as normal for telephone and face-to-face consultations if preferred. We are able to offer a limited number of Push Doctor consultations most days.

We recognise this won't suit everyone, but this option may really work for some.

If you feel your concern may lend itself to a video consultation, then please let our Patient Advisor know if you will be happy to consult with a GP in this way.

This format works particularly well for those with a new urgent feeling problem and may be really useful for those who struggle to get to appointments within the working day.
We recognise that 'continuity' (the option of seeing your usual GP or someone who knows your background ) is important for some patients – for some patients at sometimes it may feel more important to see a GP rather than a particular GP.

Our Patient Advisor team will be able to suggest if a Push Doctor appointment seems appropriate. Patients would then be sent a link to set up an appointment (unfortunately we can't make an appointment for you because of sharing information etc – but actually choosing your own appointment lets you pick a time that works for you, etc)

PUSH DOCTOR - HOW IT WORKS

We hope that our partnership will help increase access for our patients and we welcome your feedback/comments on this service.
