Morecambe Bay CCG is responsible for the commissioning of the Out of Hours Service (Bay Urgent Care), which covers evenings, nights and weekends outside of the usual practice hours.

After calling this number, you will be asked for details about the patient and the problem they are having.

You will be asked some questions to assess your symptoms, given advice and directed straightaway to the local service that can help you best - that could be A&E or Emergency Department, an out of hours doctor, or a walk-in centre, community nurse, emergency dentist or late opening chemist. If you do need an ambulance, one will be sent immediately.

Out of Hours surgeries are located at the Queen Victoria Centre in Morecambe and at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, in the orthopaedic out-patient department (next to Accident and Emergency).
