NHS App Messaging Pilot
From 12 November 2025, messages sent by the surgery using AccuRx will be delivered to the NHS App rather than by SMS (if you have the NHS App installed with notifications turned on).
If you do not read the message in the NHS App within 60 minutes, you will then be sent an SMS message. Patients who do not have the NHS App will still be sent SMS messages.
It is hoped that sending messages directly into the NHS App will give patients a greater assurance that messages sent by GP surgeries are genuine, as well as reducing the cost of SMS messaging on the NHS.
