Pharmacist

Based at Heysham Primary Care Centre

Our Medicines Management Team, in addition to having a team ensuring prescriptions are issued in a timely manner, provides a comprehensive service for our patients. We have a team of experienced pharmacists, including pharmacist prescribers, available to ensure the needs of our patients are met. They advise patients on all aspects of their medicines, ensuring these are safe and appropriate. They liaise with secondary care about any medication changes suggested from there. They are available to answer specific queries from clinicians within the practice to ensure our patients receive the most suitable treatments. Our pharmacists deal with a wide variety of urgent queries from patients, working closely with the multidisciplinary team within the practice.

Pharmacy Technician

A Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role across several areas of the Practice. Their responsibilities include supporting care homes, conducting clinical reviews, ensuring medicines safety and managing medication-related correspondence from external healthcare providers.

Medicines Management Officer

The Medicine management officer and senior medicine management officer provide quality patient care, by efficiently and safely dealing with requests and queries regarding medication.
